CAHME Accreditation Checker
Is This MHA Program CAHME Accredited?
Type a school below to see whether it is on the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) accredited-program list, whether it is on probation, and which of its health administration programs the accreditation covers. 105 of 312 schools on this site are on the list; 31 of them also run programs it doesn't cover.
How to Read the Results
A brass seal means the program is covered by CAHME's list. "Not covered" on a listed school means CAHME accredits a different program there. Schools not on the list can still be good choices; they just haven't gone through CAHME's program review.
Why Program-Level Coverage Matters
CAHME's list names schools and departments. Many universities run more than one health administration master's: a residential MHA, an online MHA, an executive track, a healthcare MBA or an online MS. Often only one of them is the accredited program. This checker shows each program separately, based on the school's own pages and CAHME's list, so you can tell whether the program you're considering is the one that's accredited.
See every covered program on the CAHME-accredited MHA programs page, or filter any program list by accreditation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Does CAHME Accreditation Cover?
CAHME, the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, accredits individual graduate programs in healthcare management, not whole universities. A school on CAHME's list can also run online, executive or MBA programs that the accreditation doesn't cover.
How Many Schools Are on CAHME's List?
105 of the 312 schools on this site are on CAHME's accredited-program list published in September 2026, and 143 of their programs are covered. 31 of those schools also run programs the accreditation doesn't cover.
What Does CAHME Probation Mean?
CAHME's published list marks some accredited programs "On Probation". They stay on the list of accredited programs; CAHME posts its decisions on its accreditation actions page. On the September 2026 list: AdventHealth University, Boston University, Central Michigan University, Fordham University, Duquesne University and Lipscomb University.
Is a Program Without CAHME Accreditation a Bad Choice?
Not necessarily. CAHME is a program-level review in healthcare management, separate from the institutional accreditation a university holds. Whether an employer or fellowship asks for it varies, so check the postings for the roles you want.
What if a School Says It Is CAHME Accredited but the Checker Says No?
The checker follows CAHME's own published list. A school can be newly accredited after the list was captured, a candidate in the accreditation process, or describing a program that isn't the accredited one. Confirm on CAHME's site before you rely on it.
